The International Security Studies track explores how states, international organizations, and non-state actors respond to global threats and challenges. This concentration focuses on both traditional and emerging security issues, including war, defense strategy, cyber threats, terrorism, and human security. Throughout the course, students will learn how global power dynamics, diplomacy, and technology shape peace and conflict in the international system.
Students who complete this concentration will earn a certification in International Security Studies. This certification reflects the student’s ability to analyze global security issues from multiple perspectives, including strategic competition, peace and conflict studies, and emerging non-traditional security topics. The certificate also highlights research skills, negotiation capabilities, and digital diplomacy competencies gained throughout the learning process.
