The International Political Economy (IPE) track examines how politics and economics interact at the global, regional, and national levels. This concentration focuses on international trade, global finance, multinational corporations, development issues, and the role of international institutions in shaping the world economy. Throughout the course, students will explore how economic decisions are influenced by power, interests, and international negotiations between states and non-state actors.
Students who complete this concentration will receive a certification in International Political Economy. This certification demonstrates competency in analyzing global economic systems, understanding the role of international markets, and assessing how economic policies affect political relations. The certificate also reflects the student’s skills in research, economic analysis, and policy evaluation relevant to careers in government, international business, NGOs, and global institutions.
